Dr. Vishwesh Malgi is a highly skilled and compassionate Consultant Ophthalmologist with specialized training in Paediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus, and Neuro-ophthalmology. With expertise in cataract surgery, refractive surgery, and medical retina, he is proficient in delivering advanced eye care to both adults and children. His approach combines modern technology with evidence-based practices, ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of treatment with a personal touch.
Dr. Malgi’s areas of interest include cataract surgery using phacoemulsification with premium IOLs, LASIK and refractive procedures, and advanced care in medical retina such as intravitreal injections and laser therapies. He is particularly passionate about paediatric ophthalmology, managing childhood cataracts and visual development, as well as treating strabismus (squint) in both simple and complex cases. His expertise also extends to neuro-ophthalmology, where he manages disorders linking the eye and brain.
He completed his M.S. in Ophthalmology from MGM Medical College, Aurangabad, and his M.B.B.S. from MGM Medical College, Navi Mumbai. Dr. Malgi underwent extensive fellowship training at the prestigious LV Prasad Eye Institute, including a fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus & Neuro-ophthalmology, as well as a long-term fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology.
Dr. Malgi currently serves as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Shri Venkatesh Nursing Home & Eye Care Center, Chembur, and has previously worked as a Consultant at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre Hospital, Mumbai. He also offers his expertise as a visiting consultant at several reputed hospitals including Lions Club of Chembur, Inlakhs Hospital, Sushrut Hospital & Research Center, Surya Eye Hospital, and Sai Drishti Eye Hospital & LASIK Center. Earlier, he was associated with LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, where he focused on paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, and neuro-ophthalmology.
As the former Medical Director and Surgeon at Peripheral Eye Care Centre, Odisha, he supervised a team of over 30 staff and successfully performed more than 1000 cataract surgeries, further strengthening his surgical experience.
Over the years, Dr. Malgi has performed more than 200 paediatric cataract surgeries and 200 squint surgeries, along with numerous complex cataract procedures involving premium IOLs. He is also well-versed in LASIK and refractive techniques that help patients achieve spectacle independence. His dedication to community service is reflected in his involvement in over 100 eye screening camps during his training and professional practice.
